Some people argue that too much attention and too many resources are given to the protection of wild animals and birds. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, a number of animals and birds are lingering on the verge of extinction due to artificial as well as natural reasons. Consequently, some attention and resources are given to the protection of those animals and birds. But some people believe the protection has consumed too much attention and too many resources. However, I do not see eye to eye with those people.

First of all, animals and birds, especially those in risk of extinction, are not only our dear friends but are also of special value to us. Many animals, like elephants, pandas and rhinoceros have lived on this planet much longer than we human beings do. But now many species like them have either disappeared or are on the verge of complete disappearance due to reasons directly or indirectly linked with human activities like urbanization, deforestation and industrialization. Protection of those animals and birds are mirror of our civilization and our conscience. Besides, it also has great value for keeping the ecological balance on the planet we inhabit.

In the second place, in this are characterized by egoistic consumerism, the problem is not that too much attention and money has been invested in animal and bird protection; on the contrary, the fact is too little attention and money has been used in saving the animals and birds endangered by human greed and aggression. Almost in all big cities and on most TV commercials luxury brands and "miraculous medicine" are displayed and many of them are made of animal fur, skin or body parts like ivory or horns. Only rarely or occasionally could people see brief advertisements advocating protection of animals and birds. The name of pop stars, luxury brands and blockbusters are on the lisps of youngsters and adults alike but the names of many precious animals are barely known to them.

In brief, I disagree with the notion that too much attention and resources are allotted to animal and birds protection. I believe we need more animal-and-bird-friendly people and organizations and more endeavours to prevent animal distinction, for as the sheep of God on this planet, we are not sent here to exploit all other animals and extinguish them; in stead, we are the patron and friends of those equally holy and lovely creatures.
